7       Mulitcultural Awards - Motion re

Mr Scalzi, pursuant to notice, moved  – That this House –

(a)  congratulates the Multicultural Communities Council on the establishment of the South Australian Multicultural Awards;

(b)  congratulates the five inaugural award winners for their outstanding contribution to both the community and multiculturalism in South Australia; and

(c)  recognises the significant contribution that migrants and their descendants continue to make to the social, economic and cultural life of our State.

         Debate ensued.

9       Central District Football Club – SANFL Premiers - Motion re

         Ms Stevens, pursuant to notice, moved – That this House congratulates the Central District Football Club – players, coaches, officials, members and supporters on the magnificent achievement in becoming South Australian National Football League Premiers.

13      American Foul Brood - Motion re

Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the motion of Mr Lewis – That this House–

(a)  notes that there are unprincipled, uncaring apiarists whose hives are infested with American Foul Brood and who in many instances are also using antibiotics to hide it even though the practice is against the law; and therefore

(b)  condemns the State Government for failing to uphold the law, prosecute the offenders and destroy the diseased hives

14      Petition No 41

      The Clerk announced that the following Member had lodged a Petition for presentation:

 

41   The Leader of the Opposition (Hon M D Rann), from 3,403 residents of South Australia, requesting that the House prohibit the establishment of a national intermediate or high level radioactive waste storage facility in South Australia.
