1       Meeting of House

The House met pursuant to adjournment.

 

2       Absence of Speaker

The Acting Clerk informed the House that due to his attendance at a funeral the Speaker would not be able to attend the House this day.

Hon R B Such (Chairman of Committees) took the chair as Deputy Speaker.

The Deputy Speaker read prayers.

 

4       Petition No 19

The Acting Clerk announced that the following Member had lodged a Petition for presentation:

 

19  Mr Venning, from 673 electors of the Barossa Valley and Region, requesting that the House         support the commitment of the previous Government to build a new Barossa Health Facility.

8       Suspension of Standing Orders

The Minister for Government Enterprises (Hon P F Conlon), without notice, moved - That for the remainder of the Session, the Sessional Order adopted by the House on 7 May 2002 be amended by deleting “5.40 pm” and inserting in lieu thereof “10.00 pm.

Question put and passed, without a negative voice, there being present an absolute majority of the whole number of Members of the House.
