1       Meeting of House

The House met pursuant to adjournment.  The Speaker (Hon J K G Oswald) took the Chair and read prayers.

 

2       Petitions Nos 72 to 74

         The Clerk announced that the following Members had lodged Petitions for presentation:

 

72   Minister for Administrative Services (Hon W A Matthew), from 351 residents of South Australia, requesting that the House urge the Government to include the Hallett Cove Beach on the Coast Protection Board’s Sand Replenishment Program.

 

73   Mr McEwen, from 202 residents of South Australia, requesting that the House urge the Government to pass legislation in relation to the possession, use and disposal of exotic rabbits.

 

74   Mr Snelling, from 379 residents of South Australia, requesting that the House urge the Government to reject any proposal to rezone land at Walkleys Heights, bounded by Grand Junction and Walkleys Roads from residential to commercial.

Mr Condous brought up the Twelfth Report of the Committee.

6       Public Works Committee - Report – Seventy-First Report

Mr Lewis brought up the Seventy-First Report of the Committee on Wirrina Cove Resort Marina and Public Access Road – Status Report.

         Report received.

7       Questions

         Questions without notice were asked.

 

8       Privilege – Matter raised

Hon M D Rann raised as a matter of privilege, the possible misleading of the House by the Deputy Premier as to his actions in relation to the appointment of the Chief Executive Officer of the Thoroughbred Racing Authority.

The Speaker advised that he would consider the matter and report to the House.

 

9       Questions

         Questions without notice (interrupted by the foregoing) were resumed.

 

10      Grievance debate

         The Speaker proposed - That the House note grievances.

11      Statutes Amendment (Mining Administration) Bill

The Minister for Primary Industries, Natural Resources and Regional Development (Hon R G Kerin), pursuant to notice, moved - That he have leave to introduce a Bill for an Act to amend the Mining Act 1971 and the Opal Mining Act 1995.

12      Barley Marketing (Deregulation of Stockfeed Barley) Amendment Bill

14      City of Adelaide Bill
