     The House met pursuant to adjournment.  The Speaker (Hon G M Gunn) took the Chair and read       prayers.

 

2    Public Works Committee - Report - Mile End Railyards Redevelopment

Mr Oswald brought up the Twenty-Second Report of the Committee on the Mile End Railyards Redevelopment.

     Report received.

     Ordered to be printed (Paper No 201).

 

3    Questions

     Questions without notice were asked.

 

4    Grievance debate

     The Speaker proposed - That the House note grievances.

     Debate ensued.

     Question put and passed.

 

5    Message from the Legislative Council

     The following Message from the Legislative Council was received and read:

 

     Community Titles Bill                                   Message No 73

MR SPEAKER - The Legislative Council has passed the Bill transmitted herewith, titled an Act to provide for the division of land into lots and common property; to provide for the administration of the land by the owners of the lots; and for other purposes, to which it desires the concurrence of the House of Assembly.

The Legislative Council draws the attention of the House of Assembly to clause no 150, printed in erased type, which clause, being a money clause, cannot originate in the Legislative Council, but which is deemed necessary to the Bill.

6    South Australian Meat Corporation (Sale of Assets) Amendment  Bill

The Treasurer, pursuant to notice, moved - That he have leave to introduce a Bill for an Act to provide for the sale of assets of the South Australian Meat Corporation; to amend the South Australian Meat Corporation Act 1936; and for other purposes.

Question put and passed.

     The Minister moved - That this Bill be now read a second time.

     Ordered, on motion of Mr Quirke, that the debate be adjourned until tomorrow.

 

7    Stamp Duties (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill

The Treasurer (Hon S J Baker), pursuant to notice, moved - That he have leave to introduce a Bill for an Act to amend the Stamp Duties Act 1923.

     The Minister moved - That this Bill be now read a second time.

8    Fisheries (Gulf St. Vincent Prawn Fishery Rationalization) (Licence Transfer) Amendment Bill

Order of the Day read for the consideration of the amendments of the Legislative Council in this Bill.

Mr Brindal to move - That this House congratulates Mr Tom Vartzokas and the organizing committee of the 19th Glendi Festival in Adelaide, acknowledges the debt of all South Australians to those of Greek origin who have enriched our community by their endeavour in all walks of life and with their culture and expresses its gratitude and appreciation to Mr Vartzokas for 16 years of close association with Glendi and wishes him and future committees continued success.
