            Notices of Motion: Private Members Bills/Committees/Regulations-

 

                  Ms Stevens to move - That this House condemns the way in which the Minister for Health has managed the haemolytic uraemic syndrome epidemic and calls on the Government to establish an independent inquiry to investigate and report on -

                              (a) whether all appropriate action was taken by the Minister for Health and the South Australian                       Health Commission -

                              (i) to ensure the public was adequately informed of the symptoms caused by thesyndrome and                           the dangers associated with consuming the contaminated product;

                              (ii) to warn retailers, prohibit the sale of contaminated goods and supervise the recall of                                          contaminated product; and

                              (iii) to protect the State's smallgoods industry:

                              (b) the need for better management and policing of food health laws including product labelling;

                              (c) the need for legislative change; and

                              (d) the need for National standards and improved coordination between Federal, State and Local Government authorities.                                         

 

                  Mr Cummins to move - That the Rules of Court under the Juries Act 1927 relating to Elections, made on 30 September 1994 and laid on the Table of this House on 1 November 1994, be disallowed.

 

                  Mr Cummins to move - That the Regulations under the Environment Protection Act 1993 relating to Schedule 1 Variation, made on 27 October 1994 and laid on the Table of this House on 1 November 1994, be disallowed.
