3 Suspension of Standing Orders
Hon M D Rann (Premier), without notice, moved - That Standing Orders be so far suspended as to enable him to move a motion relating to the Bali tragedy forthwith in lieu of the remainder of routine business.
Question put and passed, without a negative voice, there being present an absolute majority of the whole number of Members of the House.
Bali Tragedy – Condolence Motion
Hon M D Rann, moved - That this House expresses its horror at the senseless killing of so many people, including Australians, in the terrible bombings in Bali and that the House mourns the tragic loss of life, prays for the injured and expresses its deepest sympathy to the families and friends of all who are affected by this appalling tragedy; and further, that this House calls on the leaders of all nations to work with the Indonesian Government in taking the action required to find the perpetrators of this heinous crime and bring them to justice.
And being supported by Leader of the Opposition (Hon R G Kerin) and the Speaker.
Motion carried in silence; Members rising in their places.
Ordered, on motion of the Hon M D Rann - That the House do now adjourn.
House adjourned at 2.24 pm until tomorrow at 2.00 pm.
