1 Meeting of House
The House met pursuant to adjournment. The Speaker (Hon Peter Lewis) took the Chair and read prayers.
2 Suspension and resumption of sitting
At 2.01 pm the sitting of the House was suspended.
At 3.20 pm the Speaker resumed the Chair.
3 Petition No 49
The Clerk announced that the following Member had lodged a Petition for presentation:
49 Hon D C Kotz, from 346 electors of South Australia, requesting the House to call on the Government to categorically declare that Modbury Public Hospital will not be closed or amalgamated or have any current services withdrawn.

5 Speaker's Statement – Appointment of Clerk and Deputy Clerk
The Speaker announced the appointment of Mr Malcolm Lehman to the position of Deputy Clerk and informed the House of the selection process for both the Deputy Clerk and Clerk.
Questions without notice were asked.
7 Grievance debate
On motion of the Speaker, the House noted grievances.
8 Message from the Legislative Council
The following Message from the Legislative Council was received and read:

MR SPEAKER - The Legislative Council has agreed to the Bill returned herewith, titled an Act to amend the Co-operatives Act 1997, without any amendment.
