4       Select Committee on the Juvenile Justice System

Order of the Day read for the Report of the Select Committee on the Juvenile Justice System to be brought up.

 

Extension of time for bringing up Report

Hon R B Such moved - That the time for bringing up the Report of the Select Committee be extended until Monday 30 May 2005.

(1a)  Subsection (1) does not apply to a person providing physiotherapy to another who is visiting this State to participate in an event or training if the physiotherapy is provided in connection with that participation and the person would be authorised to provide the physiotherapy under the law of another jurisdiction were the physiotherapy provided in that jurisdiction.

12      Speaker’s Statement – Matter of Privilege

The Speaker stated that with respect to the matter of privilege raised on 2 March concerning Mr Brokenshire, on the three points raised there were no significant inconsistencies between the Members remarks (on 13 May 2002) and the Auditor-General’s report.

 

13      Extension of sitting

Ordered, on motion of the Attorney-General, that the sitting of the House be extended beyond 6.00 pm.

 

14      Speaker’s Statement – Matter of Privilege

Statement (interrupted by the foregoing) resumed.

The Speaker further stated that the remarks made by the Member as part of a grievance debate could not be held to have interfered with or obstructed the House as those remarks did not lead to a substantive decision of the House.  Therefore there were insufficient grounds for him to determine that precedence should be given to a motion on the matter.

House adjourned at 6.09 pm until tomorrow at 2.00 pm.
