The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation tabled a copy of a Ministerial Statement made by the Minister for Health (The Hon. L. Stevens, M.P.) concerning the Review of Mount Gambier Hospital by Professor Bryant Stokes, A.M.

The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation tabled a copy of a Ministerial Statement made by the Minister Assisting the Premier in the Arts (The Hon. J. D. Hill, M.P.) concerning the Southern Cross Replica Aircraft.

   6.

The Minister for Industry and Trade, without notice, moved - That the Standing Orders be so far suspended as to enable Question Time to be extended to enable the Hon. A. J. Redford to complete his question to the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation and for the Minister to complete his reply.

                 Question put and passed, without a dissentient voice, there being present an absolute majority of the whole number of Members of the Council.

The Minister for Industry and Trade, pursuant to notice, moved - That he have leave to introduce a Bill for an Act to amend the Petroleum (Submerged Lands) Act 1982 and to make related amendments to the Off-shore Waters (Application of Laws) Act 1976.

                 Question put and passed.

                 Bill introduced and read a first time.

                 The Minister for Industry and Trade then moved - That this Bill be now read a second time.

                 On motion of the Hon. R. D. Lawson, the debate was adjourned until next day of sitting.

The President announced that Her Excellency The Governor would be pleased to receive Honourable Members of the Council at four o’clock p.m. for the purpose of presenting the Address-in-Reply.

                 The President and Council then proceeded to Government House to present the Address-in-Reply to Her Excellency The Governor.

                 And being returned.

                 The President resumed the Chair and reported that, accompanied by Honourable Members, he had been at Government House and had there presented to Her Excellency the Governor the Address-in-Reply as adopted by the Council on this day, and that Her Excellency had been pleased to reply as follows:

The Council, according to order, resolved itself into a Committee of the Whole for the consideration of the Correctional Services (Parole) Amendment Bill.

                          Clauses No. 1 to No. 9 agreed to.

                          New clause No. 9A inserted.

                          Clause No. 10 read.

                 The Hon. I. Gilfillan moved on page 6, lines 16 to 28, to leave out the clause and insert new clause as follows:

                   “10—Repeal of section 66

                                  Section 66—delete the section”.

                 To report progress and ask leave to sit again.
