   1.

Council met pursuant to adjournment.  The President (The Hon. R. R. Roberts) took the Chair.

   3.

The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation, in his role as Minister on the Aboriginal Lands Parliamentary Standing Committee, advised that the Aboriginal Lands Parliamentary Standing Committee had met and resolved, by a majority, that the following statement be made:

         “An issue was recently raised in Parliament by an individual Member of the Committee concerning the termination of a contract of employment by the Executive Board of Anagu Pitjantjatjara.

         The Aboriginal Lands Standing Committee informs the Parliament that this is not a matter for the Committee to resolve.”

The Minister for Industry and Trade (The Hon. P. Holloway) tabled a copy of a Ministerial Statement made by the Premier (The Hon. M. D. Rann, M.P.) concerning the Super Trawler Veronica.

The Minister for Industry and Trade tabled a copy of a Ministerial Statement made by the Minister for Transport (The Hon. P. L. White, M.P.) concerning Stolen Vehicles.

   6.

The Minister for Industry and Trade, without notice, moved - That the Standing Orders be so far suspended as to enable Question Time to be extended to enable the Hon. C. V. Schaefer to complete her question to the Minister and for the Minister to complete his reply.

                 Question put and passed, without a dissentient voice, there being present an absolute majority of the whole number of Members of the Council.

The Minister for Industry and Trade, according to order, moved - That the Criminal Law Consolidation (Abolition of Drunk’s Defence) Amendment Bill be now read a second time.

                 The Minister for Industry and Trade, pursuant to contingent notice, moved - That the Standing Orders be so far suspended as to enable the Bill to pass through its remaining stages without delay.

                 Question put and passed.

                 Debate ensued.

                 On motion of the Hon. G. E. Gago, the debate was adjourned until next day of sitting.
