Council met pursuant to adjournment.  The President (The Hon. R. R. Roberts) took the Chair.

The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation, without notice, moved - That the Standing Orders be so far suspended as to enable Question Time to be extended to enable the Hon. G. E. Gago to complete asking a question of the Minsiter for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation and for the Minister to give his reply.

                 Question put and passed, without a dissentient voice, there being present an absolute majority of the whole number of Members of the Council.

                 The Hon. R. I. Lucas moved on page 2, lines 10 to 12, to leave out the clause and insert new clause as follows:

             4—Amendment of section 4—Interpretation

Section 4, definition of extended trade, paragraph (a)—after "day" insert:

(including Good Friday but excluding Christmas Day)”.

                 Question - That clause No. 4 stand as printed - put and passed.

                          Clauses No. 5 to No. 8 agreed to.

                          Title agreed to.

                 The President resumed the Chair, and reported that the Committee had considered the Bill and had agreed to the same without amendment; whereupon the Council adopted such report.

                 The Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, pursuant to contingent notice, moved - That the Standing Orders be so far suspended as to enable the Bill to pass through its remaining stages without delay.

                 Question put and passed.

                 The Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries then moved - That this Bill be now read a third time.

                 Debate ensued.
