Wednesday 21" May, 2008 10.00-11 .15am Eliza Tse - Education Consultant Room 504 Valley Centre 80-82 Morrison Hill Rd, Hong Kong. Eliza worked for Education Adelaide until 2003 when the Government closed the Hong Kong office . She started her business "Education and Training Group" and works as the Principal Education Consultant .  As one of her post graduate degrees MBA is  from the University of Adelaide, she has been keen to promote South Australian schools and universities to her client .  While there are huge agencies in Hong Kong such as  IDP, Eliza prides herself as one of the smaller agencies in providing a boutique service which is individually tailored to the student and family's needs.  As a qualified social worker she also prides herself on both her detailed pre-departure briefing sessions and on going counselling services for both student and family during the period of study . Currently Eliza has students studying a Pembroke, Woodcroft College, Eynesbury, Mercedes, Immanuel, and Concordia schools, Regency and TAFE, SABIT, and all three South Australian Universities .  She facilitates a very active Parent support group and the children are put in contact with each other in Adelaide . Eliza showed us her program guide for a very successful seminar that she ran in 2007 devoted to studying in Adelaide, in conjunction with Education Adelaide .   She also has good contacts in the media and has editorials promoting Adelaide in local newspapers .  She says that the best selling points for her are of Adelaide is safe, with a good quality of education, it  is affordable compared to other states, with a small but friendly Chinese community.   She also highlighted the fact that the current government in South Australia is seen as very supportive to visiting schools and especially acknowledged that her students are entitled to concession transport fares in this state, which is not necessarily available in the other states  . She was very complimentary of Education Adelaide and the level of support given to the agents in Hong Kong .  However, she is still disappointed that the Hong Kong office has closed and feels that there is still a role for Education Adelaide to be permanently in Hong Kong . Although South Australia is  the only state to have increased its profile in the last five years (See table 1), and she believes that she has contributed to this increase through her relationship to South Australia.  She was pleased to be part of a group who met with Minister Paul Caica when he was in Hong Kong earlier in the year .
