Council met pursuant to adjournment.  The President (The Hon. R. R. Roberts) took the Chair.

A Messenger from the Governor having been announced by Black Rod, the following Message was received and read:

Message No. 1.

                 The Governor informs the Legislative Council that, in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, the following Act has been assented to during the present Session, viz.:

                 No. 1 of 2002 - An Act for the appropriation of money from the Consolidated Account for the financial year ending on 30 June 2003.

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries (The Hon. P. Holloway) tabled a copy of  Ministerial Statements made by the Deputy Premier (The Hon. K. O. Foley, M.P.) concerning Reforms to Bodily Injury Insurance, Final Details of the Teachers’ Enterprise Bargaining Agreement and the Port Adelaide Waterfront Redevelopment.

The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation (The Hon. T. G. Roberts) tabled a copy of a Ministerial Statement made by the Minister for Health (The Hon. L. Stevens, M.P.) concerning Private Hospital Indemnity Insurance.

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries, without notice, moved - That the Standing Orders be so far suspended as to enable Question Time to be extended to enable the Hon. A. J. Redford to complete his question to him and for him to give a reply.

                 Question put and passed, without a dissentient voice, there being present an absolute majority of the whole number of Members of the Council.

Pursuant to Business Lapsed from Tuesday, 18 June 2002, owing to adjournment, the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Reconciliation, pursuant to notice, moved - That this Council requests Her Excellency the Governor to make a proclamation under section 43(4) of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972 to vary the proclamation made on 15 April 1982 constituting the Gammon Ranges National Park to remove all rights of entry, prospecting, exploration, or mining pursuant to a mining Act (within the meaning of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972) in respect of the land constituting the National Park.

                 On motion of the Hon. A. J. Redford, the debate was adjourned until next day of sitting.
