Council met pursuant to adjournment. The President (The Hon. R. R. Roberts) took the Chair. The President read prayers.

The following Papers were laid upon the Table, viz.: By the President - Report of the Auditor-General and Treasurer’s Financial Statements, 2001-2002, Parts A and B.

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries (The Hon. P. Holloway), by leave, without notice, moved - That the Legislative Council expresses its horror at the senseless killing of so many people, including Australians, in the terrible bombings in Bali and that the Council mourns the tragic loss of life, prays for the injured and expresses its deepest sympathy to the families and friends of all who are affected by this appalling tragedy. Further, that this Council calls on the Leaders of all Nations to work with the Indonesian Government in taking the action required to find the perpetrators of this heinous crime and bring them to justice. And being supported by the Hon. R. I. Lucas, the Hon. M. J. Elliott, the Hon. A. L. Evans, the Hon. D. V. Laidlaw, the Hon. A. J. Redford and the Hon. R. D. Lawson. Motion carried in silence, Members standing in their places. The Minister for Agriculture, Food and Fisheries then moved - That in recognition of this tragedy, the sitting of the Council be adjourned. Question put and passed.
