1 Meeting of House
The House met pursuant to adjournment. The Speaker (Hon J K G Oswald) took the Chair and read prayers.
2 Distinguished visitor
Attention having been called to the presence of a distinguished visitor in the gallery, in the person of Hon H Kato, Speaker of the Okayama Prefectural Assembly, Japan, the Speaker, on behalf of the House welcomed him and invited him to take a seat on the floor of the House.
Whereupon Hon H Kato was escorted to the Chair by the Deputy Premier (Hon R G Kerin) and the Deputy Leader of the Opposition (Ms Hurley), introduced to the Speaker, and accommodated with a seat on the right hand side of the Speaker.
3 Address in Reply
Order of the Day read for the adjourned debate on the question - That the Address be adopted.
Ordered, on motion of Ms Stevens, by leave, that the debate be further adjourned and resumed on motion.
4 Petitions Nos 4 and 5
The Clerk announced that the following Member had lodged Petitions for presentation:
4 Ms Breuer, from 264 residents of South Australia, requesting that the House urge the Government to oppose the sale or lease of ETSA and Optima Energy assets.
5 Ms Breuer, from 375 residents of South Australia, requesting that the House urge the Government to permit residents and landholders, to the west of the lands incorporated in the District Council of Ceduna, to vote on the proposed establishment of the Great Australian Bight Council.
