The Economic and Finance Committee has resolved to inquire into and report on:
• The long-term economic and social costs of supporting children in and out of home care.
• Evidence about the long-term economic and social impact of foster and kinship care, and outcomes for children and young people in foster and kinship care as compared to impact and outcomes for those in non-family based out of home care.
• The economic and social contribution of foster and kinship carers.
• Innovative successful models for attracting and retaining foster and kinship carers, including in regional areas and for respite.
• Innovative models of support for foster and kinship carers; and
• Any other related matter.
Any person or organisation wishing to make a submission to the Committee is invited to do so by COB Friday 19 April 2024. Written submissions should be addressed to:
