these four deaths were:
Co-sleeping and unsafe bedding – 2 deaths
Smoking – 4 deaths
Cannabis use – 3 deaths
Preterm birth – two infants
It is vital that a comprehensive death scene examination and parental interview
by trained personnel are conducted and remain essential features in the
assessment of unexpected infant death.
