Social Development Committee of the Parliament of South Australia 19 4.2 POSSIBLE MODELS FOR LEGISLATIVE CHANGE The models described below are drawn from the report of the National Drug Strategy’s Committee that investigated legislative options for the use of cannabis in Australia.

The bulk of these defects were due to the growing number of Technical Regulator audits conducted with SA Police on the premises at which cannabis crops were cultivated.

Approximately 31% of samples returned a positive result relating to the consumption of cannabis.

> 25% of drivers and motorcycle riders killed tested positive for the presence of cannabis, methamphetamine or ecstasy or a combination of these drugs, an increase in the proportion compared to 2013 (18%) and the previous 4 year average (21%)
