As concept design of the rebuilt Marion Ambulance Station progressed, it was identified that the
existing station land presented challenges due to the narrow, long, linear nature of the site, and a site
crossfall of approximately 2.5 metres from East to West, as well as the site being bounded by roads
on three sides, with an elevated train line to the East.

It is intended to tender
the project in early 1995 for construction over a 22 month period, with occupation anticipated
as early as January 1997.
2.2 SITE INSPECTION
On 9 November 1994, the Public Works Committee travelled to the site of the proposed
University of South Australia City West Campus Project.
