We anticipate soon completing and tabling Reports in relation to the Independent Gambling Authority and the Land Management Corporation.

Apart from its Annual Report for 2001- 2002 the Committee tabled one report.

The Attorney-General stated the purpose of the Committee would be to, ‘make the operations of statutory authorities more open to detailed scrutiny to determine the desirability of their continuation and the propriety of their activities and actions’1 Reports of the Committee Since the Committee was formed in 1994, it has published 55 reports, covering the operations of particular authorities and examining issues of significance to all statutory bodies.

The Committee tabled 26 reports during the period (there is a short lag between the Committee receiving and considering a project, and the project report being tabled in the House).
