provisions include increased
penalties for trafficking in
narcotics, increased forfeiture
powers, reduced penalties for the
personal possession and use of
cannabis and the establishment of
Assessment and Aid Panels (which
assess and arrange for the
treatment of addicted drug
users).

These investigations included one potential electrical
fatality, four fire investigations, four incidents involving machinery contacting overhead
power lines, one person receiving burns from an electrical incident, an incident resulting
in significant damage to a high voltage switchboard, a factory worker being injured by
machinery and a school student almost making contact with live electrical cables.

that caught fire as a result of
lights associated with the
cultivation of cannabis igniting
the surrounding area.

World Class Performance
Women's Prison and the Port Adelaide and North East Community Correctional Centres resulting in:
four prisoners being charged by Police;
three visitors being charged by Police;
ten prisoners placed on non contact visits;
thirteen visitors being banned;
numerous telephone numbers being prohibited to prisoners;
four Community Service offenders being issued with cannabis expiation notices; and
one Community Service offender being charged with possession of a drug of dependence for sale.
