This is not unexpected – research suggests substance misuse (including alcohol, cannabis or other drugs,
and smoking) is significantly higher amongst young people who self-diagnose as having major depressive
disorder.71 This does not exclude the often-complex influences of trauma, grief, loss, disability, or other
compounding factors.

World Class Performance
Women's Prison and the Port Adelaide and North East Community Correctional Centres resulting in:
four prisoners being charged by Police;
three visitors being charged by Police;
ten prisoners placed on non contact visits;
thirteen visitors being banned;
numerous telephone numbers being prohibited to prisoners;
four Community Service offenders being issued with cannabis expiation notices; and
one Community Service offender being charged with possession of a drug of dependence for sale.
